We have been provided with a new opportunity (we had a different one last year) to propose our referees to a local Futsal league that will begin in mid-May. Futsal (Five-a-Side Soccer) is “The Way the World Plays Indoor Soccer” and is the international form of indoor soccer approved by FIFA and governed by USSF in the USA. It is played in all continents of the world by over 100 countries with 12 million players. For more information about Futsal please visit https://futsal.com/about/. There is a unique set of laws for this game, which excludes the offside law and prohibits slide tackling amongst a few other law differences from traditional 11 v 11 soccer. These will be Single Referee games with Match Fees of $60 per game!!!

This is an ideal way to provide additional refereeing opportunities for our members and to broaden our reach as an Association. The games will be played indoors on Futsal courts in Torrance from Monday through Friday with an initial season from May 16 – August 5. However, before we submit our proposal to provide these services we need to determine the level of interest of our members to officiate these games.
